The 200-Manufacturer Milestone Has Been Surpassed
Two hundred and fifteen manufacturing companies operating more than 275 plants spread across eight Canadian provinces have now accredited one or more products with the “Well Made Here” program.
Based on a sample drawn from manufacturers who shared their full list of accredited products, it is estimated that 15,000 items meet the program’s criteria.
The challenge now is no longer about numbers, but about the level of engagement among participants. Barely a third have incorporated the “Well Made Here” logo on their qualified products or their packaging. Worse, only a quarter systematically use it in their advertising, social media communications, and trade show booths. “Placing the logo on their website is far from enough to promote the program and benefit from it,” reiterates Richard Darveau, President and CEO.
“It’s the combination of the logo being systematically applied to in-store products and the promotional efforts of partner banners that will yield the best results,” adds Mr. Darveau.
With the addition of CANAC and EvoX, nine banners are now partners of the program. These banners represent over 2,000 hardware stores and home improvement centres.
