During the fall banner trade shows where “Well Made Here” will be exhibited, visiting retailers, exhibiting manufacturers and communication teams from buying groups will get their first look at a transactional site they can visit to purchase various items to identify and promote their participation in the program.
While globalization is in full swing and people are traveling more than ever, there is a parallel trend that calls for a need to know where products originate. An in so doing, Canada clearly stands out. That is why the timing of the “Bien fait ici | Well Made Here” program couldn’t be better; not only to stimulate the sale of domestic products, but also to support the sale of Canadian made products in external markets.
In a 2017 survey of US hardware stores, Hardware Retailing, an American magazine, reports that 62% of respondents say their customers are asking for products made in their country.
